It was Anne’s turn. As instructed, the bag she was about to carry was filled to the brim with stones and sticks. The rules were clear but it had to be executed the right way. The red ghost forest wasn’t too far away so she left the next morning. Anne walked herself through the forest blindfolded with red leaves touching her skin. What she witnessed next was nothing like she had ever seen before. Roro was the last existing elephant on the planet that had shrunk in size and was too afraid to get out there. The Earth was now an Iceland. As she pulled out the sticks and stones out of her sack, Roro became defensive but seeing her build a warm fireplace for him changed his perspective.

“It would have been Christmas,” she said softly, stroking Roro’s head. Anne was overwhelmed with emotions. With only a handful of people on this planet, there would be no festivals but Anne was a product of a blessing her parents had asked God for. “You are the real miracle this Christmas”, Anne said to Roro. The sun sets and she wraps him in a warm cloth and boards the huge train built to carry animals. That very night, Roro, Anne and a handful others survived. The Savanna Bay Area where the elephant lived his whole life ceased to exist.
